Default My first project

Found this 89 Si for $1000 back in September or October

Motor arrived shortly, it was pretty clean for the most part.

Good ol single cam = gone

Fits pretty good

Well unfortunately for me, on the way to work one morning, I was hit on the interstate.

The car was still driveable for a while until another day I was headed to work and a tire smashed into me, crushing my hood in, smashing my headlight, cracking the top of my radiator, and cracking my windshield. Oh well.

Just to let you guys know, I did this swap BY MYSELF with no help from anybody. I'm 18 I funded it myself, I work fulltime and goto school fulltime. The swap was done in the winter in freezing *** weather :-X I slaved for 5 straight nights after I got off work. Worked from 1-9:30 everyday and still had time for the swap, so not to sound like a douche, but for the conditions and circumstances, I think I did pretty good.

Take that insurance money and go buy another chassis. Keep yours for parts
You can have two Crx's!

No, I'm not saying just because I'm 18 doing it means anything special, but you have to admit, most people this young have their parents help by lending money or paying for it alltogether. Anywho... Now I own a black b16 crx and I'm in the process of a dx b16 swap. But my black b16 crx is for sale, it's time to move on to the EK gens. Thanks for the comments though.

That is really crappy luck on your project! It was a nice little car, too.

Good luck with your new stuff.

A taxi hit me, so the company gave me a $3000 check and let me keep the car so I actually made a little money.

Motor, tranny, ecu, hasport mount/linkage/subharness and shipping from hmotorsonline came to $2169. Had to get new axles and a few other things, so it probably came to about $2300.

Thats rough. When you first got your car for a $1000, it was the same condition mine is in, except I paid $500, and before that, I paid $1000 for a shitty *** crx that was rusted everywhere - rockers, quarters, doors/door jams, hell, the hatch didn't close half the time, but yea, don't give up, just use what happened to you as incentive to make a better crx
