Turbo 4th Gen prelude
Hey Im looking for a little help here from people with experience. I have a 95 VTEC prelude and I am working on putting in a turbo, I have talked to people about this ordeal and have heard a wide range of Ideas. Let me start out by asking about the stability of an H22A, I have heard they are not strong enough to support boost, I am not looking for a drag car I would only like to run 5-8 psi just for an extra kick. With that I have a friend that has installed quite a few home made turbos for sohc civics and such without any problems, uses the VAFC in place of an EMS has anyone have any experience with this? is this a safe alternative? If anyone has any suggestions on how this would work or has experience with this hit me up. Thanks for the Help!
boosting at >7-8psi is risky with h22a's, since it's a jdm motor, you might want to drop compression a bit also (head gasket). vafc hack works ok, but i rather just get ems or some other engine management.
I only know of a couple of types of ems like the AEM or the Greddy, what other options are out there that might not cost quite as much, I think the AEM is about 1500.00 last time I checked
