Stock 97 ITR Dyno plots and new SMSP Cat-back
Out of curiosity I took my stock 97 ITR down to Inline Pro this afternoon to get some baseline runs in before Dave (SMSP) bolts up his 2 1/2" cat back exhaust, my old DC Sports 4-1 header (now with a 2 1/2" collector) and one of his aftermarket cats.
The car has 72.5K miles on it and just had all its fluids, filters, plugs/wires/rotor/cap/timing belt changed yesterday, and also installed a Mugen Temp switch and Thermostat. The Guys at Inline Pro set the timing to 18 degrees before any of the runs were started. Temps were in the low 50's and it was rainy outside (the dyno numbers ARE corrected in the graphs).
All in all I'm quite pleased with the preliminary runs, even though the numbers kept climbing a bit with each run (3 total), and varied by about 5.5 whp (163.4/167.4/168.9 with the torque numbers coming in at 116.0/118.8/119.4).
I'd like to thank Dave in advance for the nice job he did on the header and for helping me install it all this coming weekend. Hopefully we'll get a chance to check the compression numbers as well (once again, just out of curiosity).
I'll be back to the dyno next week to check up on and document the improvement.

I'm hoping after the exhaust install that the numbers will be in or near to the 180 whp mark.

You have no idea how much I'd like to, but THAT car will have a full cage next time.
Also on the T-Blow subject, the guys at Inline Pro seem to be able to get nice/lasting results on stock internals/thicker headgasket.
This car is just getting N/A type bolt-ons.

$97.50 for the few runs w/o tuning or wideband.

I have a couple more "stages" of improvements I'm going to try.
Stage II is the afore mentioned exhaust.
Stage III is the Mugen intake
Stage IV is the CTR intake cam, Toda gears (with some tuning) and Mugen ECU w/an adjustable FPR.
I wonder how far I can go before needing some 270 cc/min Lude injectors.
Looks like I'll have to start logging the A/F with the next few runs.

Nice. My ITR put down the same numbers when I bought it. Just a JDM 4-1 and an AEM CAI. Look forward to your future stages and dyno documentation.

Bah. Don't make me scan my stock 2000 that put down a little over 170 after we set the timing at 18degrees

I was just joking and glad mine was doing nicely even with the mileage.
However , I DO have a great appreciation of an fondness for ... the CW versions.

Dave's latest cat back, the components:

The completed system:

Sorry about the big pics, but sometimes the beauty is in the details ... Ed
Oh yeah, updated dyno numbers in the next day or two.

Yes, nice and subtle/quiet tone during idle and just a bit of a rumble during throttle input.
Sure beats this:

and this:

Which are the first and second b-pipe bottlenecks on my ITR.

wow nice numbers.
I went with a annonymous HT buddy of mines to DSR on Friday and he put out 163 in the first pull. Only mods on the B18C5 are J's intake, cam gears, FPR and OE JDM 4-1 with 2.25 piping. After Lawrence was done with it, we left there with 174.9.
He is still disappointed. Glad to know his numbers are okay
