How to identify a real ITR front strut bar?
look on the underneath portion of the bar. the "real" type R strut bar has "watashi wa bakayaro desu" stamp on it for the designation of which jdm factory it came out of....the baka factory.

The baka factory eh? My Strut bar is from the aho-hentai factory...strange. Anyways, the real ITR bars have two perpendicular supports inside the bar which can be seen when looking at the end of the bar itself.

A lot of ebay look alikes have those as well, so it isn't really a good indicator anymore. I've noticed that most of the ebay knockoffs are more bronze than the real OEM ones.

LOL!!
LOL!!
I had an ebay typeR bar on my last teg and the only difference i can see between it and the bar on my JDM ITR is that the bolts/nuts on the fake one were chrome/silver and theyre black on the OE bar, other than that theyre pretty much identical and my fake one had the sectioned parts inside the bar also.

The connecting part looks more black than the stock one in those pics.
If the fake one is as real as a real one then get the fake one.

It was a bit dusty but its more a dark charcoal colour than black even when clean, personally i wouldnt pay the money for a genuine ITR bar, i doubt theres any much difference in real and knock off bars.

I have always been under the impression that the mounting brackets on the EBAY versions were flimsy and flexible compaired to the OEM one. Compairing an ebay rear JDM ITR Bar, to a real one, the mounting brackets on the ebay special you could flex with your hands.

It depends. There are several different ebay knockoffs and all of them are of varying degrees of quality. I've seen a few with relatively flimsy mounting brackets, however most of the ones I've seen are just as sturdy as stock. I have an ebay rear strut bar and it's pretty damn solid.
