Rambling about the RSX...
I'm not a fan of the RSX-Type S, but I don't hate it either. I saw a silver one on the road today and it looked really nice. Perhaps the exterior is growing on me. Anyway, I test drove it a few days after it was released and was thoroughly impressed with the handling and performance. The gearing and shifter was very impressive and the seats were some of the best "stock" seats I've ever sat in. I also loved the V-tec crossover and to me, it sounded more distinct than the GSR or TypeR.
My biggest gripe about the car is the interior. While I like the finish, quality and even choice of materials used, I feel it doesn't have the cockpit feeling anymore, but more like a mini-van or even the civic....like it's too spacious. (btw,I prefer interiors like the 3rd generation RX7 interior--it feels more sporty) If not for the seats, I would of thought that the dash layout belonged to a van or SUV of some sort. The climate control ***** were too big and reminded me of the ***** you find on appliances like ovens, etc. The instrument cluster was nice; however, the way it's presented (the round arch) reminds me of the old Saturn coupe instrument panel.
Just wondering if anyone bought the car for it's overall package and overlooked the poor interior design. (kind of like ignoring the ugly headlights of the WRX, but buying it anyway for the performance, etc.)

Thank God for choclate and vanilla. I do, however, think you are the only one that feels this way about the interior. Every magazuine Ive read and person Ive talked to, loved the interior. Oh well.
I guess opinions are like butt holes, everyboy has one.

The reason I bought my RSX was because of its interior. I was actually first put off by the exterior, but as soon as I climbed into the seats and noticed how all the controls are all within perfect reach, and give you the feeling of great quality, I was sold. Now every time I get into my friends Integras, I always think their dash is goofy cause its turned away from the driver. To each his own.
I'm not a fan of the RSX, but one of the things I do like about it is the design and layout of the interior. It would feel more like a Honda product to me if the cowl and beltline were lower though.
i dont like the ***** either.. the rest of the interior is too minor to pick apart. i like a 'normal' dash like the 3rd gen tegs. I especially liked the mesh like material on the dash. The gearbox is sensational !!
if you really want to complain about an interior.. how about those preludes! lol it costs more than a GSR.. yet no leather!? I test drove a base model lude '00 and the inside looked about as upscale as a civic. oh and the car is HUGE.. yet its no bigger inside than in the integra... that car needed to go on a diet. but in defense of the ludes the look of the car has grown on me immensly.. I still respect the prelude. we will miss you
