Default Driving the R with no cat ??

Here's a quick question .. will I cause damage to my car if I drive it without the cat ?? I'm talking about removing the cat and driving with just the header.. Yes, there is a reason why I'm asking and its not about going to the strip

Don't idle for long periods of time - esp with traffic.

Sweet! Another "you should run a cat or you'll kill all the puppies" thread.

Cat or no cat damage is done to Mother Earth.

We will all die before the effects of our abuse comes full circle.

Talk about ignorant.

Anyways, run a cat...no need to make it a little bit worse.

Not ignorance, just staing a fact. No matter what we all do this planet will soon be out of natural resources and then we'll all be up ***** creek. We'll all be dead anyway, do you honestly give **** who the president will be in 2085?

One friggin test pipe convert will not do any more harm than the big rigs that are driving down the interstate that runs through your town.

Hehehe !!! You guys take this too seriously .. The reason I asked is that I need to drive my car "cat-less" to the muffler shop where the flanges will be welded to the cat and installed.. I really don't want to spend $60 getiing my car on a flatbed for this deal and I was just concerned about the possible damage factor to my engine ..

Sound and cops, that's something I still need to figure out

i've done it, for the same reason as this guy.. to get to a shop where I could weld it up.. (high flow cat split in two on my old Si)

as long as you're not driving like an ***, keep the rev's low, and don't have an attention grabbing car, you'll be fine.. and even if you do get pulled over, I'm sure a cop would understand that you were going straight to a shop to get it fixed..

Yes, there are a lot of ignorant people on this board. BTW diesel fuel in the US is the suck and is on the verge of being reformed, coal burning power plants aren’t nearly as unsound as people make them to be. Oh, and I’m not worried the day we run out of fossil fuels, there are hydrogen powered cars.

Oh Please, all the these estrogen soaked, vegan, tree-huggers are an obvious sign of all the fake gearheads in todays "car scene". You should all end yourselves.

iperez, you'll notice a light smell when idling at stoplights. Other than that, I dont even think Puerto Rico does smog testing. So I'd say go 4 it.

I wouldnt go so far as to call these people names. Nothing wrong with caring for the environment. The problem is that most of them contradict themselves and their beliefs. I grew up in the hardcore/vegan/veggie/straightedge scene so I know very much about these people. I dont think anyone on this planet can be 100% environmentally friendly. The best people can do is conserve rather than abuse to help save the environment. There is only so much we can do as a single person on this planet.
