I just bought a 97 dohc vtec prelude, the car come with lots of bolt on the motor. Anyways, I brought it home for about 3 months of regular driving, but today the car 2nd gear went out. Everything on the car was fine. 1st, 3rd, 4th everything is alright except for on 2nd gear, 2nd the car bogg like it hit the rev limiter or something, it feels like gas is cut off at that 2nd gear. I have to shift to 3rd to get it runnning...

I was wondering anyone could give me a clue what wrong with my gearing??? or was it a gearing problems? I think if the 2nd gear broken, I couldn't even drove it right??? Or something be wrong???

it sounds like the teeth are broken or damaged severely, you should take it apart and look at it

 

I had the apexi hooking up at that time too. Could you think it was the wiring problem that cause this 2nd gear to engage or it has nothing to do with the wiring? It a machanical problem??

 

sounds like you don't have a mechanical problem.. are there any griinding or bad noises coming from the transmission or just the car bogs..? i think you have an electrical or some other problem,
