Anyone interested in 2 piece rotor rear brake upgrade?
I can put together a 2 piece rear rotor of the same diameter as my current rear upgrade. Not sure on the price of this upgrade yet, but it should be $400 or less.
Would there be any significance to change ther rear Gsr calipers to either Itr calipers or Willwood Superlites? How much would it cost for Wilwood calipers for the rear?
I'm interested in the 2-piece rotor rear kit. Does Wilwood have rear calipers to replace the 98-01 GSR stock ones?
do you have a kit that uses the dynalite calipers with a 2 piece rotor at will fit under 15s?
i believe having a larger rear brake when upgrading the front brakes reduces brake dive and therefore won't put all the weight of the car on the front when under hard braking. i'm not sure

I'm not talking about the effects increasing rotor size and the attendant increase in brake torque due to increased radial spacing of the caliper. I question the possible gains to be made by the reduction in unsprung weight w/ the 2-piece rear rotor, which are minimal at best. And please don't give a stupid answer like every little ounce counts. No one here is that accomplished a driver to feel the benefits. Also there are absolutely no cooling benefits if a solid rear rotor is used.

Every little ounce helps. hehe

The actual gains to the car by using the 2 piece rotors are mainly the increased rotor size. I mentioned the weight reduction just as an aside, as many people ask about that when switching to a 2 piece rotor. The weight reduction does provide some reduced unsprung weight, although like you point out, it's not much compared to the front reduction(10 lbs per wheel).
The stock calipers are fine even with the larger rotor. They have to be retained because of the parking brake. I may work on a 2 piston kit to replace them, and retain 1 stock caliper to use as the parking brake...
