yeah i'm not sure "cheap" and "turbo" belong in the same sentance together, haha. if you want to spend less and get more quality parts, piece your own turbo setup together.
really??? so greddy sucks?? that is news to me. can you state your grounds for this conclusion because i was thinking about getting this kit. from what i have read hear on honda-tech it is supposed to be reliable power. it doesn't make nearly as much as other set ups for the same amount of dollars but i heard that it is about as reliable as could get out of the box

i this guy that works on cars all the time and races and **** when i said greddy he said like its only something and it wont give you alot of power.

i agree, greddy is great. If your a tight *** you don't need to make anymore power than a greddy kit any way.

I'm sure i am forgetting something, but that gives you a general idea of wat a custom kit will be that can produce a good amnt of whp. I'm expecting around 300 until i blow my clutch lol then maybe 330 ?? i wont know til i get on the dyno.

I have to disagree. I had a GReddy kit on my d16 civic, and it was the most dependable thing on earth, and last winter i did a GReddy kit on my 94 GSR. Not only did it definitly move enough for me, it couldnt be any more dependable, an everyday driver as well. I ran it at the strip and did consistant 13.5's on worn street tires, not bad for a simple bolt on turbo kit. To me Greddy=quality in my opinion
also since you live in CA, having a GReddy turbo would be good for you since it comes CARB legal. Then you wont have to remove the kit to get it smogged, unless you have an alternative route around that.
If I was going to turbo, I would GReddy for sure. I mean honestly, do you want 400-500whp? without slicks you would have tire fire all day long. For me personally, I like to be able to drive on to the drag strip, race my car, and drive off without having to do a bunch of crap to my car. I know people that go out to the "local runs" and they get ready to run and then say "wait, hold on, I have to put on my racing tires." 10 minutes later they are ready. To me thats just silly, but maybe thats what you want.
Good luck with your choice.

I mean everyone says greddy kit sucks but why does it?? is it cause it wont make 400-500hp and thats what everyone that drives a honda seems to want....I swear every other topic is how can i make 450whp on my stock civic!!! yee haw! I was just being sarcastic and stating the reasoning why i think people say greddy sucks...I think the greddy kits are awesome and i really like them for reliability and driveability...and for the low budget person its a great start
See sig.....How much power do people want?????I think its all about people saying "my car makes 4,5,6 hundred horsepower"...My car is probably making 300, or so with the greddy turbo on an ls, and thats enough for mid to high 11s...

i agree... everyone is really all about the 400hp bandwagon nowadays on h-t
if you want an inexpensive pre-made carb legal kit then greddy is a nice choice... you wont make 400hp but it will be relatively nice
ive had a greddy kit before... at the time, my budget and hp goals were much different than they are now
everyone bashes the greddy kit on here but its a simple, cheap kit
if you really want to make power though greddy is not where you want to go... it all depends on what your goals and budget allows
if you want over 300hp, piece together a kit

like wrecked teggie says... i have a similar setup... i have an inline pro manifold, spearco i/c, greddy bov, and the greddy e-manage... i pieced everything together for right under 3k, and my setup definately meets my hp goals and is relatively inexpensive (plus you have to add a few hundred for a little over 3 hours of dyno time/tuning, total bill without anything counting any work to the motor was about 3350)

Its funny, it seems like the cars with the simplest setups (stock motors, simple ems's, etc) run the most consistent times on H-T

I notice the cars tuned by Ma$e get the best numbaz tho!
Yeah, but mase does not know anything about flying down rt9 120 mph while trying to watch your boost gauge, wideband, rpms, and looking out for packs of deer running across the highway.......
Now that takes some skill.....
