The company that manufactures the pad is Nissin I believe. Just wondering because I replaced my pads yesterday w/o the use of a mask and was exposed to some brake dust.

umm if the last time they were replaced was like 10 years ago then it might be possible. other then that no.

 

actually, it's possible that they do contain asbestos. It was banned by the EPA in 1991, but the ban was lifted 2 years later.

 

The USDM pads contain NO asbestos by law. Nissin indeed makes the pads for Honda. Some kits include new shims as well. If you are looking for a good alternate, use the AEM/Nissin upgrade like I do. They wear longer and stop my car better than stock. ANother choice (when available) will be Raybestos ceramic. Just be sure to either replace or resurface your rotors to allow the new pads to bed properly.
