Default Considering Type-R Shocks/Springs for an LS. good idea? price?

Hey guys. I'm looking at possibly setting my LS up with Type-R Shocks and Springs. I'm only looking for a .5"-1" inch drop, and i love the ITR Stance. Anyone know how much this will cost? perhaps a used setup from someone that upgraded to coilovers? Good idea? bad? thanks guys

Edit: i apologize if this is the wrong board to be posting in (considering i own an LS) but i would think ITR owners would know the most about ITR springs/shocks.

Alex

Bit of an expensive option for no adjustablilty... I would suggest some decent coilovers...

It's relatively easy to get a good deal on some used shocks. The springs are pretty good, but the shocks are awesome. They're probably better than any other non-adjustable shock for your car, especially when used with the stock springs. I don't know about pricing, but it should be reasonable enough to make it worth it.

i definetly recommend it. i recently did this about a month or so ago. the shocks are friggin awesome, better than tokico. Includidng swaybar i paid 425 for everything, i got brand new springs for 100, slightly used shocks for 150 and lower control arms for 75.00 still in plastic.

I have heard Type R struts will not work on other model Integras with out Type r control arms. I have a set of R springs if you are interested. They would probably be a nice drop for an LS. $60+shipping.

Rdriver,

you are correct about the ITR LCA's for the rear. I myself run ITR Springs and Shocks in the front and ITR Springs with Koni Adjustibles in the rear so I didn't have to change my LCA's. I did this because if I changed my LCA's this would kick me out of my STS AutoX class. I do admit, these springs are much better and I even got the Yoshi234 as well

thanks for your input guys, whats a "Yoshi234 " ? hmm i'm definately considering this, i figure it will cost me 400 for everything.. are there any disadvantages to this? i had my heart set on H&R full coilovers (found it for $850 shipped as opposed to $1350 retail) but i'm still debating.. keep 'em coming. Oh, and why did you choose this setup, nighthawk & AoiGSR, instead of just upgrading to aftermarket shocks+springs?

Thanks
Alex (who recieves his OEM front and rear lips painted black from the bodyshop today!!! mmmmm)

This was a Yoshi234 recommendation and he's never been wrong with his suggestions. I went with this set up because my AutoX class STS does not allow LCA modifications and has to remain stock. I couldn't use the Coilovers that I wanted and the spring rates were t00 stiff on the regular road driving.

Reason I didn't go with the Aftermarket Springs was because I didnt' know how they would be "tuned" with the shock. I know the ITR springs and shocks were made to work well so we figured we don't have to do any adjusting.

For the rears, I may wanted more adjustability so to stiffen or loosen the rear of the car, I had the Koni's that could do that. It just depends on what you want to do with your car. This has been a great setup and I am getting used to the characteristics of this new setup. (less roll )
