Default April 4th SCCA Auto-x, Ft. Devons Ayer, MA

Hey, I'm just wondering who all (if anyone) from this site will be there this weekend. I know I will, and it's my 1st time autocrossing...
Look for me and my friends in my 2000 Milano red Civic Si.

I'll be there. Dunno which car yet. Depends on weather. If not too much rain, then the Yellow Miata, if it's really rainy, I'm bringing the Black one (it has windows ).

Come find me and say Hi.

It's one of my biggest pet peeves... Not that you can tell though... I'm so subtle about it.

I wish I could get up to visit more then once a year... you guys put on an excellent event. I'm hoping I'll be up again for the Memorial Day Weekend races at LimeRock. Do you guys have an event scheduled again that Sunday.

... sorry feeling lazy and figured I'd just keep this thread going.

Between a Civic and a WRX Wagon, who gets sent to get the groceries?

make sure you leave the trailer at the event though. that things noisy without your car on it.

nate - off to see if he can't get an alignment that doesn't sound like something kC would use

Last time there was cold rain I wasn't a happy camper. Doubtful that I'll be at this one, but heck--there's a whole season ahead of us.

You guys who are actually contenders have to worry about missing races. Those of us that suck tend to choose the sleep/comfort route over the hallucination/sleep deprivation/hypothermia route

gamby, you didn't miss much in the way of weather. cold and rain was the order of the day. still doesn't get you off the hook though.

the course: a little more on the tight side then normal, but not painfully so even in the rain. the course had a good mix of slaloms and sweepers and flowed well for all but one section.

the results: i got owned by an HS car on Dirt Stockers for pax (both 1st and 2nd in pax). i ended up 3rd in pax, first in class. i would give the old man a hard time about beating his time, but 4th heat (when i ran) was significantly drier then 2nd heat (when kC ran).

overall, great to finally see my other family again and to turn the wheels of the old rice burner. amazingly i didn't spin the thing despite how hard i was trying, nor did i waffle any of the angry orange people. what can i say, first event of the season. give me time dammit!

Well, I took the yellow car since the forecast from Saturday didn't look so bad. Oh well... ended up dripping some oil (which makes a much bigger mess in the rain) so we were trailered after the first runs. *sigh* At least I can get it fixed before the NHIS licensing school in a couple of weeks.

Raingear rocks. (rubber clothes and waterproof boots ) It's the little things in life.

And living in New England, this should be as standard as a jack when going to an Auto-x.

Raingear has been standard equipment for car events since 1998. Woo!

Of course, the 6 person hot tub to warm up in at home after cold/wet events is new equipment (Sept 2003). Came with this house. Everyone should have one of these. Seriously. It rocks.
