Default Unsprung clutches.

My ACT XTSS is starting to take a dump on me after only about 3000 miles(starting to slide). I was wondering how many of you run unsprung "puck style" clutches daily and how long they have lasted? I really don't want to be buying a new clutch every 5000 miles, but I guess that's part of the fun I'm trying to find out if tilton makes a sohc clutch setup. Anybody know? Thanks.

when you say take a dump what do you mean?

i have a act unsprung 6 puck clutch with heavy duty PP an after 3000 miles my clutch pedal feels extremely soft like stock and i dont have chatter any more but the clutch still graps if i pop the clutch....

makes me worried that my pedal is so soft...

i am not leaking any fluid in my slave cylinder so i dont know why mine is doing it possibly we have the same problem?

yes. they tell you they are for race use only becuase they are a diff material and the harsh engagement will wear them quicker. Sopme have better luck than other.

By taking a dump I mean it's starting to not hold the power.

Yea, I can't figure it out. But I know for a fact it's sliding because I've had it happen before It's not bad sliding, but it's starting.. Don't forget the B series XTSS holds 49 more ft/lbs of torque than the sohc one. Probably because I boost like mad all over.

If your clutch is junk after 3000 miles, you have a problem with your setup. Sounds like it's not fuly engaging, or something.

I wouldn't run an unsprung cluth on the street, it's not good for drivetrain parts.

I'm running a sprung 6-puck, and it seems good so far. I haven't put many miles on it yet though, so only time will tell.

It's definitely fully engaging. Anybody know how ACT rates their clutches for torque? I thought I read somewhere it should be *EDIT* a percentage under the limit posted or something. Thanks.

why would it be 30% under what they rate them for? they would be out of business by now wouldnt they ? i dunno like i said i have beaten ACT's to absolute **** without a single prob. 3rs of daily driving and every weekend beatingsd at 7k launches on slicks and never slipped once.

Nate, I run the CM Stage 4, pedal feel is great, and holds like ****! I've only put about 1500km on it since the new set up, but so far so good. I have a feeling there is something wrong with your ACT..

I meant to type like 3% under the posted limit.
