Default A new perspective on CAI...

After reading the highly informative post about transient time and their signifigance, I thought of other parts that might influence torque as well. Well first thing that came to mind was a CAI. We've all seen the dynographs, and it seems like a "hump" in torque is very prominent in the 4k range. This is right before VTEC, or our useable RPM range. If I interpreted the header post correctly, this is proof that a CAI equipped car would accelerate faster and in effect render lower times. Is my understanding correct? Any thoughts?
