mark both input shaft and diff.
(while in 1st gear)
spin input shaft 10 times exactly
providing Diff was marked at 12 o'clock, after 10 rotations it will be:
1) just-just before 9 = SI
2) just-just after 9 = DX
3) abit after 12 = HF

If you don't know and you have an Si tranny go take a test drive
Thanks,

This is correct. 60-62 MPH at 3,000 RPM in 5th gear.

Hmm, you guys sure thats the best way to figure out? I'm like 100% possitive my 'DX' car does that unless perhaps I got a Si tranny?

I'm surprised no one has suggested going here to settle this debate:

At best this tranny is 12 years old with +100k mileage. And a moajority of those years could've been with some pimply faced teen wanking on the shifter very irresponsibly. Especially if it's a Si.
Best to exercise caution when buying used transmissions. Test it in a car before you buy whenever possible.
