Default Fan

The fan to my car keeps coming on and running my battery down. At first I thought that it was a temperature sensor gone bad but my gauge still works fine and when I unplugged the sensors on it the fan didn't stop running. The check engine light is on. Also I think it might be the cooling fan now. Theres one black wire from the fan that I assume is ground and theres one other blue wire with a black tracer that leads to a temp sensor in my free-on lines. thought it might be to the A/C but I'm thoroughly stumped. Any thoughts?

Pull the code from the check engine light and see what that is.
