anyone know why someone would just put one cam gear on the IM side but no the exhaust???

 

it would be the same thing as putting two cam gears on, but just adjusting the intake cam.

Maybe it was essential to whatever their setup was. They needed the intake side to open sooner to let more air in. Possible FI setup ?
