How-to guide for installation of new shocks
Hi, I have a 1990 HOnda Accord. Stock - no tricks - just a car for driving around town. I need new rear shocks but I'm on a budget and I really need some help from users in identifying the best brand of shock that I can get for a reasonable price, say a maximum of $60 per shock. Secondly, are there any free online how-to manuals that you can recommend to walk me through the installation? If not, which in-store manual will give me the most help?
As you can tell from reading this post, I'm no mechanic. So please speak to my novice level.
By the way, there's a girl in Toronto who posts to this site all the time. I can't remember her username....but I just want to say...she is an absolute hoooottttiiieee!!! Anyone know anything about her?
Thanks,
Chris

i would find someone selling their factory shocks, they aren't that expensive. i sold mine to someone on here for 15$ a piece because i had an extra set.
here's a write up i did the other day for suspension work

you can also check out the accord guide thread at the top of the page.
your best bet would be to get a haynes manual, they are like 15$ from any major auto parts store. i got mine from advance auto parts. the helms manual is the best but its a bit pricey. but it will pay for itself after a few uses.

You can get some new KYB GR-2 shocks for about $50 apiece. Basically OEM replacements. Check out http://www.groupbuycenter.com
