ok i got a s1 cable tranny and i want to put a lsd in it so i dont know which one would there the dc2 or dc5 or ek9 this **** confused me

I have the exact same Question

I have a JDM J1 transmission (same as your JDM s1) and im looking to buy a Quaife LSD and i dont know which application to buy it for.

I was told 90-91 Teg LS by someone, then someone else said any integra. Im unsure though

I don't think differential made for hydro will work on cable tranny since they have different internals. I'm not even sure if Quaife has lsd for cable trans.

 

QUaife makes em for the 90-91 Teg LS, im going to call em up tommorow and find out what the deal is

the only tranny that is different is the YS1 out of either a 92-93 ls or a 92-93 gs-r
the YS1 can have an ITR LSD installed into it

if you buy a LSD for a 90-91 integra it will fit fine
the only cable tranny that i know of that came with a LSD from the factory is the s1/j1 on a siR and it was optional

also thos lSD's were viscous LSD's and work similar to a torque converter on an automatic transmission.

when the fluid becomes too hot and looses viscosity the LSD looses all functionality

i definately reccomend getting a helical gear type LSD like the quiafe or find a clutch style LSD like a Cusco or a Kaaz

and for your LSD needs contact R and D Motorsports

Damn! you beat me to it. I figured all that out yesterday.

Remember if you have a YS1, the 90-91 tegs wont work, something like a spline is bigger.. i cant quite remember but it wont work. Same with the s1/j1/y1 the 90-91 tegs work you can use like a type R buy you need other pieces from the tranny to make it work!
