Default engine swap in CA

hey guys,

does anyone know what the referee asks when you go to the ref for an engine swap? my friend has a b16 sir2 in his crx...and was just wondering what he would need to do before he goes to the ref, and what he might be asked of..thanks

Not true. Use b16a3 smog equipment and you can pass.

if you get all the parts from a USDM DEL SOL VTEC

i.e. stock down pipe, ecu, injectors, completley convert the
car to OBD1 you can get a CA bar sticker. its not easy but
it is possible

the del sol injectors are not necessary per sae, just a set of OBD-1 B-series injectors (i am not 100% sure if d-series injectors would work so we will stick with what i said for now), you will need the USDM intake manifold, the JDM ECU will technically work and you can pass with it although it is set to run higher octane and it could cause some lean condition problems, the stock JDM exhaust manifold/down pipe will work also, if anyone has any other questions ask away
