Default B20VETC-T is dead- self induced... Learn from this

Just wanted to let everyone know:

1. I have crappy luck
2. Don't try this at home!

I ran over a curb/pothole pulling out of a parking lot. oil pan hit the curb. made it about another 1/4 mile before it ground to a halt.

Here's how it came off the tow truck (cam gears 180 deg apart)

Re-aligned eerything, major rod knock, pulled the pan... yes that's the pick-up laying in the pan.

Yes, it's the Morso pan, but I used the wrong pick-up (I used the GSR pick up on the B20 block). The re-inforcing brackets didn't reach the block. I still can't believe it completely riped off like it did, but I guess they're there for a reason (Doh!)

I'm gettign a B18B this week, keeping it stock... at 10 psi.

*edit*
If you mod your engine like I do, for God's sake, use a oil pressure gauge!

And don't run over curb/potholes.
Good luck with the new build.

OUCH! Sorry to hear man. Little stuff like this SCARES me to death. It doesn't take anything to destroy a motor when it comes to oil deprivation. I FEAR (literally dream about it) that I am going to get my motor together, drive it down the road, oil pump take a dive, and me be out my built motor.

Lesson to be learned: DONT SKIMP, BUY THE RIGHT PARTS!

Everyone-

Thanks for the sympathy... I seem to have the worst luck!

Anywhay, the car was a blast... 8-9 psi every day driving to work...T04E V2 trim from F-max. Little on the low side for this trim, I'll see what happens with the B18B, although I'll miss when the VTEC engages and the wheels break loose!

310 cc injectors, Hondata 4B, skunk intake, ITR tranny (shift like a madman!)

I'm glad I didn't sleeve it first...

if your pulling the whole motor why not transfer the crank and rods over from the new b18b and just hone and re-ring the block???

upgrade when **** breaks dont downgrade

That's what I'm wondering as well. Was it disconnected for the feed line?
