Default Help! Sunroof not closing properly...

My sunroof is being stupid. The motor is fine and the rails are fine (I think) the sunroof will open and close but when closed, the right side arm won't go down so the rear right corner of the sunroof stays propped up.

Any CRX owners here know how to fix this? I'm worried about water leaking in while in this condition but I really don't wanna shell out hundreds of dollars at Honda. Any help is greatly appreciated, and feel free to contact me if you can fix this, I'll compensate you for time.

Thanks,
Kevin

Thanks, that gives me a lot more direction on what is wrong with the sunroof. However, I'm a total mechanical n00b and I don't wanna screw anything up, if it's not too much trouble, could you walk me through this step by step?

Also, by using this approach, will I be unable to use the motorized sunroof unless I get the oem parts from Honda?

unfortuantly honda wont sell the parts seperatly...its $145 US for the cable/holder...

you first need to take out your sunroof and see what is broken...what i did was open the sunroof all the way, take off the panel with a 10mm for the bolt that holds the panel to the rail...and 8mm for the nut under the panel. slide the panel off....

now you have to take out your rearview mirror, sun blockers and the roof light as well as the panel that is underneath it. once those are out, carefully pry off the side panels that go along the roof and take out the liner carefully...next unplug the sunroof motor clip and take off the 4 draintubes...then there will be 10 bolts around the sunroof that are 10mm...be carefull not to get your head smashed when it comes down...i usually do the front first, then the sides, then the rear while my feet are holding up the front...

take out the panel and observe what is broken, you should be able to tell really easily like i did...

good luck...
