safe to turn off maintenence required light?
my car's maintence required light is supposed to go off at 7500 and 15000 for oil changes and other stuff like that
currently im in the 17000's
i got my oil change BEFORE the 15000 mark, at around like 14500
but when it hit around 15000 my maintenence light came on
do you guys think its just the oil change reminder? or could it be something else? should i go get it checked or just turn the light off

It's just a reminder based on mileage. Maybe it wasn't reset the last time you did an oil change. The system has no way of knowing what if any work has been done or is needed. Again, it's purely a mileage based reminder.
All I have to do is stick my key in a little button and the light goes back to green. It's perfectly safe for my car.
By the way change your oil more often or you are going to have more problems than your maintence required light turning red.

It's just a reminder indicator. There's no sensor that sets it off, so, it's nothing to freak about. I didn't know what it was at first when it turned from green to yellow on my car and then I read up on it in the owner's manual.
And change ur oil at 3000 miles!
