Actually, the CVA1003 is a single 1 piece unit, along with the current CVA1004. It's the CVA1000,CVA1005,CVA1006, IVAC800, IVAC801 have two pieces and the IVAD900 has three.

Evenything plugs into the back of the DIN sized piece that sits in your dash.

The KCE103V/104V are optional modules that allow you to have additional audio/video inputs, as this screen is so barebones basic, but you don't need those to for it to work.

Dc24me is correct...the unit is a one piece unit. ( basically its an
entry level unit ) I personally own this piece in addition to the kce103v
exspansion box...the only regret i have is that this model ( 103v) does
not support/create 3 preamp outputs like the new unit does.

I have 2 of them, and love them. It's an entry level set up, but my needs are basic, so it's perfect for me. I really like the fact that everything is integrated into the unit, so no extra "boxes or brains" to find a spot for.

ya, but then member, with alpine, its a little harder to bypass the break/e break switch.. so unless u plan on bypassing that, u gota park it to enjoy the ps2/dvd/tv.. which i think is better and you dont gota worry about a JAKE seein it out the corner of his eye, pulling u over and giving u as much as a 100k fine plus impounding ur car

I just installed a CVA1003 recently in my car, and used a competition only black box to bypass the emergency/foot brake combo, it works perfect. Cost about 25bux.

P.S. remember its illegal for the driver to able to watch anything besides the road in most states... so either out run the cops or save money up for the ticket .

The black box installed in my car is really small, it's with all the other wires in the center console, you can't see it.
