I've noticed that alot of the front bumper covers for the JDM ITR are fiberglass... aren't there any that are urathane or more like OEM material? Fiberglass is crap and I'll have none of it on my car- any help is appreciated... even those with negative comments

 

yep, the oem JDM ITR front bumper. the other non-oem JDM ITR front bumpers will obviously be a lesser quality material.

 

right- but what about the actual Mugen or Cwest front cover? are they fiberglass as well?

That's a good question...I always wondered if those bumpers are made of fiberglass!

 

I know there is a company that sells carbon fiber relipca's of the OEM front bumper.

 

cwest is glass, so is the mugen.. (which looks hideous!)

weight reduction, supposidly.

also cheaper manufacturing costs.

 

c-west and mugen make high quality fiberglass bumpers though.. i think they use polyfiber or something like that.. less likely to crack then regular fiberglass

 

yeah the carbon fiber oem bumper is from carbon creation. If anyone is interested i can get it for you.

 

I was looking on a site earlier today at the Cwest front- they said it's made from urathane- looks like that's the one to get then eh?

after closer inspection- I see it is FRP or fiberglass reinforced plastic... pliable yet light- hmmmm... oh well I'm going to order one. Just have to sell my front bumper and lip and she'll be mine

 

cwest isn't urenthane n1 or gymkana version...

 

C-west N1 front bumper is made of PFRP which is Pliable fiber glass and reinforced plastic which is almost like urethane.. i seen the real deal when Project D (www.autoimaging.com) was still open here in minneapolis
