cheap small battery
Well for about a year now I've been running a Champion lawn and garden battery in my CRX and in my Civic 4dr. Its alot smaller and alot lighter and about 15-20 bucks. Screw paying 45-65 bucks for a battery, what a scam

how many cranking amps does it make? i can't seem to find the specs.

runs out to garage....hmmm the sticker fell off, well as far as cranking amps....it turns over real fast, as fast as a standard battery, also in the middle of winter in Montana it turns my 90 civic 4dr w/d16A6 w/ full stereo and power everything.
Seriously though I wouldnt post some half-*** mod if it wasnt worth it.
sorry for the huge pics better those then none eh!

Most lawnmower batterys have are 165 to 300 cranking amps(at zero) The oem battery has 450 cranking amps (at zero). Also a deep cycle is made to run a moter( like a boat trolling motor) The problem with a deep cycle in a car is that you loose cranking amps.
also the reserve capacity on these things are like 30min so forget goin to the drive in with one of these!
thats the reason I'm gonna stick to an optima or similar when I relocate

ya man seriously ......my cars have been running very good with these batteries.
They crank over very quickly and I will never buy a "regular" battery again except for my new accord and my passport.
light weight, cheap, smaller, why not......go to Sams Club or Costco.....hmm maybe Walmart......they range from 15$ to 20$ depending on the cranking amps.
You might also want to consider that in order to keep your oem battery hold down you need to space out the batter so it sits right otherwise you will run out of threads on those long hooks

I bet you won't get two years out of that lawnmower battery and you might get hung out somewhere . If you ever worked a parts counter some mechanics will ask for anything but Champion plug or anything but a Fram filter. The same with Exide batteries( Champion batteries are made by Exide). Good luck
I know champion suck a** but I cant complain can I? 20$ for over a year of trouble free battery.....even when its 10 below it fires right up.
trust me I dont run champion anything else

thats difficult to measure...it depends mostly on how cold it is outside. it will also depend on your compression ratio.

I've got a Hawker Genesis G12V16Ah10EP.
Hawker make batteries for most companies like Holley, Dynabat, Odessey, etc but the Hawker ones are cheaper. I paid $50 for mine and its 13lbs and is a dry cell so I don't need a battery box.

This is what I plan on running soon as I stop being a cheap *** and buy it. Isn't the heeltoe battery pretty expensive?

If you wanna use a smaller battery you can always use a Miata battery. I have been using a Miata battery for the past 2 years. That battery is always been able to turn over without a problem and that is with a swap in the CRX. It also saves some space for a bigger intake.
