Default H22 head breathing better?

Has anyone dyno tested how much better the h22 head flows with just a port and polish, because the stock h22 head does not flow after 7100, basically I am just trying to look for a cheap solution to make my motor breath better and be more effective until 7800rpm with out doing cams (hopefully) thanks

here is my dyno

you sure it's not your exhaust that is restrictive?

i dont remember seeing people get more power after 7100rpm with out proper headwork. but i seem to lose out after 7000 rpm, so thats what i shift at now. i heard that redline is at 7500rpm for a h22a4. do y ou have your dual runners open at all times? cause that could cause some lag

I shift mine at 7, its not a b16 , oh well I guess I will put my header on and see what happens, if it doesn't make up in the top end I guess I need to get cams

sneaky guy. i wouldn't have thought a dyno was hiding in this thread dyno-tested stuff?? please check my sig. while you're there might as well leave your dyno + mods.

what you're trying to do is move your powerband up til 7800? i don't believe the prelude makes power up there though.

To make power past 7200 or so, you need cams.

As for shifting early like that, you also have to look at what rpm you land at for the next gear when you shift early. You could be putting yourself in a much worse powerband than just holding that gear out.

lone luder is correct, it will take cams to significantly increase your rpm range because that is one of the main bottle necks on the motor, a good bowl polish behind your valves and swirl polished valves will also help out alot, keep your stock sized valves though, a shorter intake with a velocity stack will help you out alot also, and a good header and exhaust system

it drops slighty under vtec like 4400rpm. but id rather be moving under vtec than not moving after 7k rpm. thats just me, i dont wanna over rev my car anyways, it sounds pretty monsterous when i start past 7k.
