see if you can answer this... throttle cable adjustment and freaky idle
how far away from the little indent should the right side nut (facing the car's front) be for my throttle cable to not be too loose.... ive been trying to adjust it but every time i rev the engine it sticks or something because the rpm just stays at like the highest point it revved too.... i know its not the idle controller because i already adjusted the screw all the way in and stuff... gimme a number of threads if you can or measurement.... i would appreciate it
p.s. the engine is a DOHC ZC in a 91 CRX Si.... and i want it to idle around 1000 RPM or so

its not about the number of threads or how far up the nut is .. its all about the tension of the cable :

BTW save the pic and zoom on it
Edit: why do u want it idleing at 1k or so??
.. u should set it at stock idle . if not your timing will be off

ya the cable does not have anything to do with your idle......you should be able to let the car idle with no cable at all.
then hook up your cable and adjust it so when you push on the gas there is no freeplay and the throttle body opens all the way

well ill tell ya'll my whole problem and maybe it will be clearer. My 91 Si with dohc ZC swap was idling at like 2000-3000 rpm. i did the suggested disconnect of the idle controller and adjusted the screw, which is now screwed all the way in. The car now idles at around 1800 so i loosened the throttle cable in hopes of getting it to lower a little. It did, and not it idles around 1000 but if i press the gas, it rev, then stay at around 2000. I know my cable is probably loose, but i tightened it just a little and it began idling at 2000 all the time again. Thanks for the help i hadnt seen the graph i was at school (hardly any pictures show up) but ill check it out now. Thanks again for the help
Edit: sorry for the long post i didnt realize i typed that long

Sounds like you have a vacume leak. and cable should be adjusted so it has just a tiny bit of slack at idle. If it sticks try cleaning the crud out of the throttle body.
muchas gracias, ill check all this biznass out i definetly wont rule out forgetting to put a vacuum line in or something
