KYB agx + ground control coilovers= stiff azz suspension
Ok i installed a prothane master suspension bushing set, and swaybar bushings, and trailing arm bushings, and new tie rods. While having the suspension gutted, I took the time to install the new suspension. I purchased a set of ground controls with stock spring rates. Needless to say, my brains have been rattled. My car looks like a damn see saw going down the road. Litterally every imperfection in the road is jarring my brain. I have the adjustables set at 2. Any suggestions?
Thanks
Steven

Set the AGX's to 1!
In all seriousness, I think the new bushings have stiffened up you ride more than anything, maybe they will break in???
If you have your coil-overs turned down a-lot, maybe you should lift the car a little.
Good luck.

I am going to try the other settings on the kyb's, as for the drop, it is about 1/2 an inch right now. I am only going to go about 0.75-1.0 inch drop. Man, everyone said get gc's cause they are the best. their ride is the best, blah blah blah. I guess if you are used to a set of stock shocks with the stock springs cut so your car is dropped 4 inches. I hope this stuff evens out, or I am gonna put the stock springs back on, with the kyb's of course
What spring rate (in in-lb) springs did you get from GC. That plays a big role on the suspension.
I have AGXs and Eibach Pro-kits on my Teg and the ride is similiar to stock. I have the AGXs set to 2F/1R.
On my 89 Civic with the GCs and Konis, the ride is harsh, but I have the Konis set to 3/4 full stiff up front and 2/3 full stiff in the rear. Also, I have 450F/400R in-lb springs on it...
I think the spring rates along with the suspension bushings have made your ride a little less tolerable. You will probably get used to it...it not find a nice curvy road to appreciate the handling.

I have the same setup and everyone who rides in my car is amazed how un bouncy the ride is. Did you cut the dust covers on the shocks? I know when we first put mine in we didnt trim the covers and the car was litterally riding on steel, and it was horrible, bouncy and the car was getting knocked all over the place. I have mine set to 2 front and back, 4 is really stiff.
Well When I ordered the gc's the guy at the shop asked me what spring rate i wanted. I told him I wanted it to ride pretty much like stock, so he said he was going to give me the stock spring rates. The part numbers for the springs are front: 180.64.61
and Rear: 180.64.44 if that tells you anything. For the stut covers, I cut about an inch and a half off them, but remember, right now my car is lowered only .25-.5 inches. I am going to remove the metal stock ones and purchase the kyb flexible strut boots as soon as i can find someone who sells them. Do you think the metal covers are hitting the struts?
Thanks for the replys

One other questions for you...did the guy order you stock length springs? GCs can come in shorter spring lengths which makes a car lowered 0.25" to 0.5" on the GC sleeve actually lower...

well i ordered the strut boot/ bump stop combo, kyb is on backorder
, so i am stuck with this right now. I emailed the facility i purchased them from to see the spring rates. I assume they are the regular length/standard spring weight since he had them in stock.

Help a brother out, cut the dust covers? Which things are you talking about?
If I can avoid running into problems before I install my KYB's and Eibach Sportlines in a few weeks, I need all the info I can get!

Thanks to http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com for the picture.
Cool thanks!
Now, if the Sportlines drop the car about 1.75", then how much of the dust cover should I shave? 1-1/2" or so??
They are a straight spring change of course with no adjustability, but it is a fairly aggressive lowering (to me at least).

Just assemble the spring and shock and see how close the dust cover is to bottoming out.
Yes the kyb's are installed. The front dust boots are all metal, the rear ones, the bottom 4 inches is rubber on the rear dust boots.
