Nope, not an EVO.

I just bought her yesterday. She's in really good shape for a 13 year old truck. Picked her up in Ft Collins, CO. and drove her 560 miles back home. I'll keep her as is until after I sell the R, then give half the money to the wife and use the rest for the truck. Well...maybe not all of it, $6500 is alot to throw into mods right away.

As much as I wanted an R before I had one, I wanted one of these even more. Of course when these were new and I was 18 and poor it wasn't a possibility. All in all not a bad way to spend half your re-enlistment bonus.

Sweet.

Have you ever seen the TT V8 Lingenfelter one? That thing is crazy.

Looks like you scored with that one though.

Not very familiar with them. How fast are they? Anyone have any specs? Any reliability issues?

Looks killer

Thanks for the non "domeztiks-suk" replies.

She is quite the runner, even stock. 285hp/360tq are the factory ratings. Feels like it if you ask me.

As far as reliability issues are concerned, do good preventative maintenance and preventative mods before pumping up the boost and all should be good. I am owner #4 on this truck and the previous onwer took pretty good care of her. He can't speak for the other owners but thats why I'm glad to be able to turn wrench's, in case something bad does happen.

The motor falls on its face around 5k but I plan on taking care of that in the future.

The body and paint will be last. I am toying with different (tastefull) color combinations. Much photochopping to do to decide. Since I will be keeping this truck for a very long time, not keeping it 100% stock is fine with me.

more specs

Nice truck. I always wanted Syclone or Typhoon back in the day. One of my buddies had Typhoon and upgraded the turbo. Can you say, "WHOA!"? But, his tranny went kaboom shortly after. doh!

G'luck with the new project. That's definitely a collector's item.

Cool! I had a 93 ty. Amazing trucks. Nothing quite launches like them. These trucks rule the stoplight scene.

Check out http://www.syty.net. Also check out http://www.whitetyphoon.com/links.html for more links to other syty web pages.

The truck is what I would call a "15 foot" truck. At 15 feet she is a beauty. Up close she is a 13 year old truck. The body is very solid and the paint is clear. Just a lot of little dents and such. When I take her apart, it will be a frame up resto. Geez, I'm gonna need more tools, I sold alot of stuff before I joined the military. I could kick myself. Oh well, time to get to know the local Snap-on guy.

I already had the syty link after I talked to the owner so I could look at the Syclone with some knowledge before buying, thanks for the other though They have as tight of a community as the Type R's.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Art Vandeleigh &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">how is the bed?</TD></TR></TABLE> It has a liner in it I looked under it and no rust but the paint is fucked. Just have to wait till I break her down and shitcan the liner.

Yes, I've already offered it to two other people for that price and so far both have flaked. I guess they either think that its a POS or I'm not serious. Oh, well. I didn't want to sell it locally. Once gone I never want to see her again. It will kill me to see someone else running through the gears of the car I spent so damn much time with. I've never owned another car for more than 1.5 years. I've had the R since early 98. We actually traded two vehicles in on the R. A 95 Nissan XE-V6 4x4 that I had for 6 months and my wifes old 95 Neon Highline Coupe. I wouldn't say I took a bath on the R but I paid sticker + 500. At least Anchorage had no sales tax. Saved me over a grand. I will hate to see it go for sure, but its time to let someone else enjoy.
