Darton Sleeves of course, RS Machines can do the installation. The block is one place you do not want to cut corners or try to save money.
If you needed a pacemaker, would you buy a lower quality one to save money or spend the money to get it done right the first time so you can tear into it worry free and only need to replace it once?
The block is the heart of all motors

Darton Sleeves is right. The block is the pulse of your car. If you skimp on it, then all the other components you spent your hard earned money on can be wasted by a block that really isn't worth a damn. RS does good sleeving, but I always like to think that we here at Golden Eagle offer the finest sleeving on the market. Give us a call (909) 592 - 4311 ext. 104.
i agree 100% but im hearing so many people telling me that i dont need to do it and stay local whats really the diference???its not really the money its the time saving 1 month compared to 3 days
Our flanged sleeves work really well in the closed deck H22. Tyler Hara won the ProAM class at NHRA and IDRC. The block he used at NHRA had our Flanged sleeves in his H22 and the ran 10.3?. Most good machine shops can install the basic flanged sleeve. Contact us for more details.
nothing to crazy 30pds about 650whp whats the diference if i use a ge/or darton sleeve compared to a local machine shop sleeve its probally aname brand also what could be the diference ?material? i ask cause i seen these local sleeves in closed deck h22 make between 500-600 whp i personally had local sleevs in my last set up and it made 490whp and know of a nother car (dirty harry"s)civc in turbo magazine made590whp years ago and they are claiming it is makeing alot more now with the same sleeves
Darton supplies the strongest sleeves you can buy. We use the same material for our standard flanged sleeves that we use for our Top Fuel and Funny Car sleeves. We give a lifetime guarantee our sleeves not to break, given that you dont throw a rod, detonate a piston or drop a valve into them. We supply sleeves to more Top Fuel and Funny Car teams tan all the sleeve companies combined. For the quality of sleeve we provide the flanged sleeves are very inexpensive. Nobody makes a stronger sleeve than Darton.
I guess also it would also depend on what the block is used for.i myself, since i went the all motor route,i had a local machine shop sleeve my block. They used LA Sleeves, which are holding up very well for my all motor set-up.it may not be as beefy as a GE or RS machine block, but it did cost me 1/2 the price, and in case i do blow the motor and throw a rod,i am not losing out on much money.Either way,the block would be trashed. But if i was plannin on 40lbs of boost trailer queen, then i would spend the extra cash and get the stronger set-up.Just think realistically what you are gonna do wit the block.BTW,comptech also offers to do the basic bager sleeving for a h22 block.
Darton and GE are both good and you should be fine as long as the machine shop knows what they are doing. One problem I have seen going with any local machine shop is that i'v seen the sleeves sink.
I myself went with a benson block with custom darton sleeves.
I rather pay a bit more and not have a sleeve sink on me because that's what happened to my friend and he had to redo it again.
