Homeless Plug.
i have a 94 si. last year i swapped the vtec in. in my hurry to get the old engine out, there were a couple of plugs that did not get label. most of them i figured out. but a year later there is one plug that is still homeless. the car runs good (expect no vtec), so thats why i have not been to concerned about it. today while i was under the car took pictures of this homeless guy. i was wondering if anyone here would recognize it and tell me where it goes. thank you.

looks like it goes to the Intake Air Temperature sensor which is on the side of the Intake Manifold on the drivers side.
Or I maybe the sensor that is infront of the Intake Manifold

That is the plug for the IAB solenoid. The wire colors on that plug are PINK and BLACK.
The green plug in the picture is the PSP switch (Power Steering pressure switch). In your picture 'Plug 8', I can see exactly where it goes. Look to the right center of the picture. See the vacume line with the label on it. The vacume tubeing looks like it says "TAP" on it. It connects to a blue part of a solenoid. That is the solenoid you want to plug the homeless plug into.
The black vacume cannister on the bottom of the intake manifold is the IAB vacume tank.
Your secondaries on the intake manifold are not closing when the engine starts (Look at the driver side of the manifold when starting the car, the small gold 'disk' with the arm coming out the bottom of it) the arm should move when starting the car.
Not having this plugged in will drastically reduce your mid-range performance from about 4k-6k RPMs.
Thank you very much, Payment can be setn to jeff@hybridautomotive.com hahah, just kidding happy to help

yes i double post...
i know others from PO.com do it also.
thanks for the help.
i still don't see it goes but i will keep looking. the wires are only so long so...
i am assuming this plug has nothing to do with vtec?

no...your VTEC solenoid and VTM plugs are up on the distributor side of the head. If the plug is just hanging there it's possible that the person removed the IAB plate and diaprhagm assembly. take a picture of your intake manifold.
I would also recommend you buy a Helms then you could look up all this great info yourself.

yes the wires do appear to be black and pink. i say more red than pink but what do i know. obviously not much.
so this plugs up under the intake manifold? will it be near a brace or anything?
thanks for the help

Well today I made time to get under the car...
My homeless plug is defiantly a black and pink wire. Just like everyone said it would be. But I still can not find a home for it. I did find a plug just above, and a little on the passenger side, of the oil filter. That plug had a red wire WITH a navy blue stripe. I thought I may have had connected the wrong plug into the wrong spot but I could not get my homeless (black and pink) plug to attach to the plug. So I scratched that idea. Any other suggestions?
Thanks

Do you have any power steering? Cause I think that the green plug is the Power steering pressure sensor (also has a green connector). If you don't have the sensor then let the plug hang, mine is.
Deleted Pic: Pointed to the wrong connector to swap. But the idea was right. Plug the gray connector into the IAB vacuum box solenoid and let the green one hang.

i just had to fix mine from loose wiring
i got under the car and you can see the oil filter.. from there, i felt up and around the black box, there is a sensor plug that you can easy find.. takes some light and you should be able to get to it..
keep looking

My question is what do you guys wire it to...
i was told an active hot wire and the other to the ecu..
i wonder if this is why i have problems.. what would an active hot wire be, that i could wire it up to?

Where does the vaccuum line that says tap on it go to, the IAB Diaphram?
Also, does that solenoid that the line is hooked up to (on the black box) have to be the IAB control soleniod valve or can it be any solenoid? Thnaks for your help guys

yes i have power steering.
so if i swap the two plugs, then my green power steering pressure plug will be homeless. will i still have power steering?
thanks

Your making this hard for me hahah. The below picture should clear this up . . .
The vacumne labeled TAP line goes to the IAB control solenoid valve. I do not know if the sensor the same part as the EVAP purge control solenoid valve (the only other similiar sensor) or not.
This is all you need to do:
