I had a question about launching my RSX Type-S during races. Just so you know it has an AEM CAI, Skunk2 exhaust, Eibach Sportline Springs, and 17x7.5 SSR Type-C wheels with 215/45ZR17 Kuhmo Ecsta Supra 712 tires. Whats the best rpm range to launch my car for optimal power? I always seem to launch too high and cant help but break the tires loose, or I take off too slowly. Can some of you more experienced peeps help me out. Thanks a bunch.

 

first of all, you should feel the clutch and feel when the tires grab. keep it under 4k rpm's when you "launch"...I mean, you have good tires, so I dont see a problem with a good "launch"

 

since when are Kumho's considered "good tires"?

Those kumho ecsta supra 712's have a great rep for grip, the only problem people present is quick tread wear. But hey for like 70 bucks a tires you can't argue.
