Its actually a 4 door. 2 rotor, RWD , non-turbo, 255hp i believe. First mod: Single Turbo.

It looks like an S2000 crossed with a Miata...not sure if I like it yet. Maybe it'll grow on me!

How come all the car companies (Ford, Nissan, and now Mazda) are comming out with Altezza Tails as stock tail lights? The only car I like Altezza tails on is the Altezza itself and also IS300 (same car). Oh well. When is a new Supra comming out?

This car gives you a refinement and luxury feeling when you see it in person. It does gives you the rich-bastard 's weekend car
look. It's really not a true sport car feel as the RX7-FD3C, it's aimed at higher classed people unlike the FD.
And throw a turbo on the new rotary will give you lot more trouble than FD.
It's just another lexus SC430 by Mazda.

Have to agree here. This mazda looks like ****. The 3rd gen rx7 was probably the best design ever to come out of Japan. What the hell is mazda thinking. True sports cars have one, two, or three seats and only TWO doors.

Well then the Rx-7 was not a true 2 door car because like alot cars where hatch backs meaning 3 door cars. Also don't tell me you can't use the hatch as a door either. I've had to use it once on my Celieca GT when the locks frozen and and the doors would not open. So I poped the hatch and climbed in that way and still made it on time to HS. I found out that I'm not the only person that done this because of similar reasons. Also I simply doubt this will be the only verison they ever make. I'm sure they will release turbo model in Type R or RZ formats.

The only thing is I like the Rx-8 over the New ITR. Seems in Japan they had pretty good reviews from people who saw it. Also most companies are going away from flip up type head beams mostly because at night there not as aero dynamic also most people by the control modules that allow the flip up beams to only go up so much to give a better aero dynamic effect..plus its just another electric motor that can break. I don't think the design looks bad..I'm still not pleasesd with the RSX or the new civic they look like more Honda City looking to me with there tallness.

From what I recall, the engine is known as the Renesis and it's supposed to a dual rotary, putting out 250hp NORMALLY ASPIRATED. The rev limit on it is 10,000rpm! Rear wheel drive w/ suicide doors. Weight is in the range of 2700lbs w/ 50/50 weight distribution. Price is expected to be less than 30k. Check out http://www.rotarynews.com for more info.
And for those considering turboing this car, the reason the RX-8 is NA is because of emissions issues.

Considering how fast rotaries climb through the revs compared to their piston-pushing cousins, I wouldn't be surprised if this car walked on a S2000. And knowing how well Mazda is represented in the SCCA Runoffs, it'll handle like a dream.

Some cars you have to see it to appreciate, I used to think the M Coupe is a fugly car, but once I saw it I was like, wow, this is a piece of art!

I saw it at the sydney motor show and it looks just the same as in the pics.
Interior is nice though, and i like the idea of the expanding doors

Sweaty buttcrack nasty, and awful yellow to boot.

Might like a black one = harder to see the body lines.

2 cents.
