Default kicker comp 12 enclosure porting question???

I am about to build an enclosure for a single Kicker competition 12" subwoofer, and am curious about porting the enclosure. The largest enclosure I can comfortably build for my crx will have a 1.61 cuft internal volume. kickers box recomendation is for a 2.0 cu ft enclosure for a compact design with a 4" x 9.25" port.

Can my enclosure design be ported??

Will i gain any output over the recommended sealed enclosure, since the ported enclosure may not be the recomended?

if so what diameter, and length do the port/ports need to be, and what will the tuning frequency be?

I am looking for a clean sound, with a decent (not earth shattering) output.

Thanks for any help you can give.

Kickers like large boxes. If you want to try a small ported box, then build it to 1.6 and use a 4 inch port that is 15" long. This will tune you to 35 with a box size of about 1.5 after port displacement. That box has a nice peak starting at 45. It will be great for spl or street beating, but not good for sq.
