Default K24 for ITR project?

I can get a JDM Accord (TSX) 200hp / 180tq 2.4L engine with 5-speed transmission. I was thinking about putting a k20-R head and transmission as soon as i'm able to find one.

Should I buy this engine and run it in my car as is until I find the R parts, or should I go with the usual B18C5 swap? If I go with the K24, is it powerful enough in stock form?

btw, there is an extra $2000 to make this engine work on a dc2.

B/D series chassis should stay with B/D series motors

K series is far superior to the B-series *in general*

It really depends on your plans for it and if you can afford to mess with it to make it work.

Probably better off sticking with a B-series like Jack says.

throwing in a b18 into a dc2 is not that much of a project. thats why i wanted the challenge of the k-series.

Sounds like you have a TSX engine, not a JDM Accord engine.

There's no K24 Accord in Japan.

why would you say that?

we've seen its possible, we've seen the numbers, we know its a light weight and reliable chassis. Why not?

if you have an actual reason which supports your opinion, i'd be interested in hearing it. But why would you start something like that against these swaps? They are the future!

But anyways, back on the main topic, like Saga said... the JDM Accord has a 2.0L engine.

If indeed you have a K24 engine, I would just swap it in, and change everything out later on... there wont be much (if anything at all) to do except the headswap and tranny swap. I dont know which head the engine you have has, so that might be an issue later on with the headswap.

As for the B18C5 or the K24 stock, I think the K24 will (at 200hp like you said), perform just as well if not better. It has the same peak power, but with much more torque.

If you have no idea- no offense, but it sounds as you may be over your head with that sort of swap. Reasearch for a while, and do it right the first time

Did I ever mentioned Honda Accord Euro R? In the Accord K-series 2.0 liters only comes in the 20EL and the Euro R. The other models come with the K-series 2.4 liters.

I was quoted $2000.00 for the wiring, ecu, axles, etc. I might just go with a jdm b18c and call it a day.

Didn't he say JDM

I have read up a little on the K series swaps, mostly in EG's. i am thinking about putting the K20A in my EK. I have only heard of one person doing the K24 frankenstien and I believe they said it was a hard project and in the end it was a little ghetto rigged. There final opinion was that they should have waited till there was more experience modding the K series motors. But at the same time there won't be any more experience if everyone is just waiting around. In my opinion someone should do it, if you have the $ and a lot of time to learn about the whole setup, then do it. Just take your time and do it right

Yes here in Europe the Accord is available with a 155 hp K20 or a 190 hp K24. And also a brand new 2,2 liter diesel. No R version of the new CL7 chassis available here as of now, the so called "Euro-R" is only available in Japan.
