Just as it sounds, he sells/installs mini pc/computer systems for your car. I too was at first skeptical about this, but after seeing one installed, it is absolutely incredible. I don't have the exact specs on me, but the system comes with a 7" VGA monitor, 1 GHz processor, 256 (maybe 512) mb ram, windows xp (pro i think), 160 gb hard drive (for storing up to 10,000 mp3's and 5 or more full length movies), also includes slot-loading dvd-player/cd-rw combo drive. Included are an UNBELIEVABLE GPS system that talks to you and shows you exactly where you are going on the screen, maps out routes for you, literally impossible to get lost or miss a turn somewhere. At this time he is selling only to people in the Southeastern Connecticut area, but anyone interested please let me know, and I will get you more details, etc

PS - This would be great for people looking into Hondata or similar datalogging/pc tuning programs.

 

ps - anyone that already has amps running there speakers and or subs can really also take advantage of the 5.1 surround sound while watching dvd's, etc.

Yes it's a bit of money, but after seeing it in person and what it's capable of, I am already starting to save. I will try and take some pictures and post them. He just installed the carputer in his girlfriends civic yesterday, so he hasn't taken the time to hide the wires, etc. (because he was so excited to just get one in the car and hooked up), but after the install, all wires will be hidden, the very compact case will fit under the driver or passenger seat, the monitor will be located on a small monitor stand which will sit on the dash or similar location. I am truly amazed by the technology behind the GPS , and how you can actually see a little green arrow (your car) moving along the road as you drive, and if you type in a destination (like on mapquest) it will route it out and alert you (a voice) before every turn. Amazing. Plus the movies sound excellent because the car is such a small area, and you really get a great effect from it.

 

wow........does the gps show police too? That would be a
hell of a radar detector.

lol, wow that would be great if it showed cops parked too, maybe someday it will be possible. again, i will try and take some pics in the next few days and post them. simply incredible.
