don't get scammed! Use COD for large purchases!!!
All this scamming has got to stop. There's one way that you know you're going to get your package (or something that's as big and heavy as it) and that's using COD. It costs $8 extra and it's worth every penny if you're paying a few hundred for something on here.
Don't get fucked over guys.

a lot of times sellers don't want to send stuff COD...even when you offer to pay for the COD charge. i guess people don't want to go through the hassel.

Its more the fact that if the guy changes his mind then he just doesnt answer the door and the seller gets charged for all that shipping.
try these general rules:
1. Buy from someone who can trust(obviously you dont know for sure, but it is pretty clear who is legit and who is not most of the time)
2. use paypal or something like it so that you have a receipt.
3. if it is that BIG of an item go spend the extra bucks and have him/her put it on ebay in a private auction
usually you can get away with #'s 1 and 2

im no scammer but unless it was a really big transaction (around 1k) and/or the buyer pre-paid shipping theres no way i would send something cod..just a PITA for me..i guess thats because i know theres no way i would scam someone and always try to make the buyer feel as comfortable as possible but i if you are buying from someone that seems shady and arent willing to do cod then it could be a sign they are tryin to scam
and its not like COD is something new...most sellers just dont want to deal with the hassle of waiting to get their money and will just find another buyer

most people won't send a package COD why . . . simpley becuase if the buyer decides he doesn't want the item all they have to do is decline the pacakge, and the seller gets to pay all shipping charges and loses money.

The best way I've seen to send big items is through and Escrow account. Everything works out well, it might be a lil more but it covers the seller and buyer 100%
The buyer should cover the shipping, insurance and COD charges, unless the seller agrees to spend their money...
I always get the shipping, insurance, and COD charges up front before I send the item out if the buyer wants to pay COD...

this is the best way, a seller on here (nameless) lost my 675 bucks for a sc-61 cause he refused to do COD and i offered the shipping and cod charge to be up front. so istead i found someone to do it, i had to pay more but it is worth the security.

I don't see it as a problem that it takes 2 weeks to get your money. you ARE getting it - it's just a matter of time.
If you're living life paycheck by paycheck then you have other problems to worry about.
