oem EF armrest same as jdm DA armrest?

oem EF armrest same as jdm DA armrest?
finally i came across a mint oem armrest off an 88 civic se
i thought they were the same
but when i try putting it in the teg, it didn't bolt in
im in canada so we dont have automatic seatbelts
if i have to modify the EF armrest, ill just sell it b/c im not good at modifying
is there anything i have to remove to let it bolt in?
i havent removed my center console before
can anyone tell me?

A few screws and its out, nothing hard at all. Ive seen a few DA teg armrests and I dont think they will work but Im sure someone can prove me wrong.
