If it/they were illegall I'd be in jail and my car would have been crushed. You can drive nearly anything you choose in this country with the proper paperwork.

I really hate to hijack your thread and I apoligize but I would rather ask here instead of making a new thread since they are related. How hard is it to make a rhd Type R legal to drive on the roads here? I was told it isnt that hard since it is a car that is already over here meaning the DC2R was made available to the us market.

I think it depends on the state, but I hear you can expect thousands of dollars in fees and work done to make it pass. I've seen non registered jdm type-rs go on here with frustrated owners selling them for pretty damn cheap. Registered type-rs on the other hand go for a pretty hefty price.

Hey, I'm not here to go reporting anyone or anything, because honesly I dont give a damn. I'm just giving out fair warning for all those that think its so simple just to get the car over and you take it to your DMV. Its not like that at all. Yes, certain cars can be here with the right paper work, but the other 98% of them that are here that snuck through customes and swapped vins or some BS like that could be exported or crushed at any time. I doubt they would put someone in jail. Just make you pay to get your car exported or crushed would be all.

heh, look at bryant on his soapbox.

b, you'll find that arguing about importing/registering jdm cars is futile. people will believe what they want to believe regardless of the facts. the points you made are correct though.
