on first and second gear vtec kicks in hard and pulls, but at about 6k in third from there on it cuts in and out of vtec it's starting to **** me off. guys got any idea what might be causing this only code is knock sensor and my oil is at the right level please help a brother out

 

Is the knock sensor wired up? Take care of the knock sensor, and your problem should go away.

 

no it's not wired up but it hasn't since the swap got done and vtec worked fine for like 2 months before all of this so i dunnno

 

Do you have a reprogrammed ecu by chance? Or stock? Maybe it's something else? No other codes other than the knock huh? Maybe your fuel pump is going out...I had similar symptoms when the ITR pump in my CRX was on it's way out.

 

i have a pr3 stock with a walbro 255 so i dunno

 

i dont think it's a fuel cut because the car keeps pullling it doesn't come to a dead hault like a cut you can hear the vtec coming on and going off

 

check the vtec seal between the head and the solenoid see if the screen is crudded up.

 

Hmmm....VTEC solenoid going bad? Do you have enough oil pressure?

 

i checked my oil and it's at the top of the second dot so my oil is good ill check the seal next

 

not leaking any oil around the solenoid or nothing i just checked the screen and it is nice and clean im confused now!!
