Default Finally my rollbar is padded, look okay?

Well finally got around to padding my rollbar, I used SFI approved 45.1 padding as recommended by Chris N (thanks) and a few others. I padded the top bar and crossbar, I have one section of padding left anywhere else I should pad? I was thinking about padding the bottom of the bar but wanted to wait and see if maybe I should pad the middle of the harness bar.

Anyways, just wanted to make sure everything looked okay as this was my first time padding a rollbar

Is that typically how you are supposed to pad a roll bar? It looks like HARD PLASTIC padding?

I had always seen that big cushy looking padding but after doing a bit of research I found that the big cushy stuff doesn't really absorb any impact. This padding is very dense and becomes more dense upon impact thus absorbing the impact and saving your helmeted melon

Yep those zip ties were needed, that padding is super stiff and I needed the zip ties to keep it bent w/ the bar.

Looks great, but if the zip ties were black it would be even better.

I ordred some black zip ties when I ordered the padding but they weren't beefy enough so I had to pick some up locally and all I could find was white

I'm using SFI paddings too, but I left way more gaps than you do...with the cushy foam padding here and there, looks mutated

Two will definitely be enough to get the top bar covered, if you cut about 8" off of each one you should have enough to get the crossbar covered as well.

LOL - The entire rear of the car is gutted and you're concerned with the color of the zip-ties?

i think he means that the bar will flex because it's not a solid one piece design, but one with hinges..

anyways.. looks good chris.. you got 3 pieces I take it?

it'll just flex at the hinge

a one piece is the best way to have one...so there's no "weak" area

I never understood the OEM rear strut bar. Very thin construction on the 'endlink' pieces. Two piece, like Gen1 Mugen, is the way to go methinks, although I have no rear strut bar at all anymore.

I got 4 three foot sections of SFI. You could get by with three.
