can i still boost my 97 lude....?
Hello all...! i took my car to the shop a week ago to get some minor work done...! oil change, tire rotation and stuff...i had them do the compression test and leakdown, the mechanic said that everything checked out ok....! the only thing that worries me is that when they placed the car on the lift for the oil change, i saw some major leakage right by the intake manifold...i really dont know much about cars and i really need your help...! the mechanic said that the valve cover gasket needs to be replaced and thats where the leaks coming from but as far as the engine he said that everything is still fine....! im really planning to build up my motor new pistons resleeved and some head work, then put on a jrsc....! would you guys still boost a 100k mile car......? pls help..! thanks in advance for reading and replying to my post..>! thanks again...!
A valve cover gasket is very cheap and you can replace it yourself. Using a high temp silicone or hondabond on a gasket also helps preventing further leaks.

If your doing all that I'm assuming you will replace the bearings anyways, or atleast it wouldnt make since not to at that point, so you would have a brand new engine basically anyways... build it and then boost the hell out of it...
