whats ur turbo timer set at?
i think longer is better, but hate standing around till my motor turns off. my alarm cant be turned on until my motor shuts off and sometimes im in a hurry. i have it set at 3 minutes. whats the lowest i can go? is a minute too short?
Why do you have a turbo timer if you wait for it to shut off anyways? I don't have one yet, but if I have been boosting hard I let her cool down for a few minutes. If I don't boost much then I just let it cool down a minute or so... depends on if I am in a hurry.
my turbo timer is set to auto , and yes the hole point is to leave the car while running . and my turbo timer stays on longer if i dont get on it than if i do.
well sometimes i get home really late and i just wanna hit the sheets cuz im so tired.but ill wait till i hear my car shut off so i can activate my alarm. i park my car across the st. from my house and theres alot of theives where i live.
u guys only need to cruise normally for the last few miles to ur location and set the TT for 30 seconds...any more than that is a waste unless u just raced ur car (in which case uwouldn't shut it off immediately anyways).
Ok, I just had this conversation with someone yesterday after I payed some attention to the auto-timer function on my Greddy unit. First, the auto timer function is not meant for a high revving motor. I have my unit set to A-L(Auto Low). I went for a ride over to the beach, which included about 15 or so minutes on the highway (a bit more). I did not boost, even for a second, but I did however spend that time on the highway doing 80mph (4k rpms). I got off the highway and had two brief stops (a toll booth, and a traffic light for about 10 seconds) before I stopped at 7-11 for a drink.
I look down at the turbo timer, and it's at a whopping 7 minutes and XX seconds! So I thought about it for a few seconds, then looked at my oil temp gauge.. it was steady at 210 degrees. I go inside and get a drink, wait in line, etc etc. and come out just in time to hear the car shut off. I turn it back on, and look at the oil temp gauge to see that the oil temperature went down less than 15 degrees.
Can someone tell me again why I have this POS turbo timer? Is it really doing much, other than wasting my gas?

auto time is a joke. just set it for 1-2min and call it good. As long as you drive a few thousand feet after boosting hard and have 1-2min on the timer I think it would be fine.
