I'm considering going with a size that has more choices than the stock size. Also, if you have any negative opinions (other than the speedometer being off) of going with a larger overall diameter let me know too. Thanks!

Well, since you are raising the gear ratio and increasing the unsprung weight, you will hurt your acceleration - on the plus side tho, you should see minor improvements in fuel economy as you will be turning lower RPMs at cruising speed.

If you are lowered (for ex: > 1.5") with spring rates that aren't too stiff (for ex: <350-400lbs/in), the tire will rub.

i'm still at stock height....if i do lower the car, the drop will be modest (less than 1.5"). i just don't like the all-season tire choices in the 205/50-16 size. i have pirelli p7000 supersports but the noise gets worse as the tire wears. also, the ride is noticeably harsher than the stock tires. i just want something that performs better than the stock bridgestones but is also quiet and smooth. i guess i might be asking for too much....

btw (iranman).....do you have any pics of your car with the 205/55-16 tires on?

i didnt like the bridgestone/firestone tires on my 99' prelude either so i decided to switch them off to yokohama tires youll like that change, there deeper in tread also bettre looking tread pattern. my stock tires have started cracking along the outer edges of the tread towards the sidewall, dang firestone/ bridgestone sux

Unfortunately I do not. But when my car was lowered just a tad bit above 1.75", the 205/55/16 tires tucked a little inside the fender. Now my car's probably closer to 1.5" and when I put those tires on,, there looks to be a very small gap between the tire and the fender.

Sorry, that's about as descriptive as I can get.
Here's a video clip of when it was around 1.75": http://home.tampabay.rr.com/prelude/video/P1010030.MOV
I have another autox vid of when it was closer to 1.5", but I need a place to host it.
Still, even with these videos, it's somewhat difficult to gauge the wheelwell gap.
