98 accors srs module reset if bags blown and replaced
as title says i have a friend who fixed a wrecked 98 accord and replaced the bags and i was wondering if u can use the MES plug procedure to reset the module if they have been set off or if it only works for the light if there is a problem....thanx
most of the time the srs light could be trigger by the slightest problem.
try to reset it, if it would go away, there's something wrong.
just jump the mes connector

yea you need to either replace the srs unit or get it repaired professionally. According to my 94 helms manual, after all items are replaced meaning the srs unit, airbags, srs cable reel (if necessary), sensors (if applicable) are replaced, then the srs system will self check itself when the key is in the II ignition position and go on then off after 6 seconds if the system is fine. If the SRS light remains on, then you should proceed to trouble shooting. On my 94, it doesnt have the MES connector option to reset so I dont know if that is the same for your 98.
