Default Side Moulding Removable-Searched

Has anyone tried removing the side mouldings and plugging them by themselves...if so can you give me a detailed description of how you took them off and how you plugged the holes...what tools you used? im going for the clean look and i figured that trying to do it myself would save me money instead of buying itr doors and what not...i have my cousin helping me (who works for honda) but he wanted me to do some research to see the best way to fill holes without them breaking or cracking...

thank you and i did a search so please no "search ******"!!!

You will need a welder, bondo, and everything necessary to paint.

And I'm not trying to be a search *****, but search harder next time, I've answered your exact same question at least twice this month.

can you please tell me why i need a welder? i know i would need the basic primer, bondo, (paint of-course but my cousin and i are going to paint the whole car, thats why i need to get this done before we paint the car) and other tools such as sanding gears and what not...

Assuming you want to weld the holes and finish it with bondo rather than just use bondo (stronger and will last longer), then a welder is necessary. Either way will work, but Ive always been a fan of doing it as best as possible.

Start by searching only in the Integra forum.

Search for "shaved" in archived content and you'll find all you need to know.

If you're not confident with your bodywork skills, see about getting someone to teach you how. it takes a lot of work to make it look clean and stock. i've seen some **** jobs done which is why im takin it to a shop. goodluck nonetheless

Only one guy I know has shaved them himself and he's been in the bodywork business for the past six years, everyone else had it done professionally.

do you need new paint? because usually if you ask for your mouldings shaved along with a paint job, the bodyshop will cut you a deal.
did the jobs your brother did look good? did they last?

Actually we are painting the whole car...and we are doing it ourselves since my cousin paints small parts for Honda (door handle, hoods, etc)...btw its my cousin and when he did his friends mouldings he painted the whole car but the car got stolen about a week after he had finished...so he never really got to see the result of the side mouldings...he, my cousin has an ek shaved mouldings but the ek side mouldings are different than the dc2...i want mine to look like the itr

oh the reaon why i need a paint job is cuz i wrecked my car and damaged the quarter panel, rear bumber, and the back panel...and theres just too much scratches (from previous owner) to just paint the damaged part...so it makes more sense to paint the whole car

Haurys Auto Body in Lake city Seattle. The best. But dont expect to get a good paint job for 1K Try a few thousand for a good job. Longboarding the whole car is the only way to get it perfect. and months in the shop. Looks like you are trying to learn. well try it yourself, and if it doesnt turn out. have a professional re do the whole thing.

What I would do is get some sheet metal and weld it behind the hole left from the clip in the door. Smooth, Then fill/longboard and paint the whole door. If it looks like **** then take it to a professional. Then you are gonna spend 2X the money cus he has to fix your stuff, but worth the try. IMHO y? take them off. as soon as you do some *** in a parking lot is gonna hit your door with his and your car is gonna look crappy. Murphys law

well, holes are holes, whether they are on an EK or a teg. if the results on the EK are good, go ahead and get your cousin to do the teg. assuming he did actually fill the holes on the EK
