Default New 1990 Civic LX owner!

I bought my first Civic today, a 1990 4 door LX. Power everything, I love it! It needs to be de-riced though. Has one of those big-*** Honda "H"'s on the rear window, a foot and a half long "Honda" sticker across the hood at an angle. Gray "Civic" decals on all 4 door handles. A Rev-Hard sticker on the rear driver side door window, there's no turbo in this car. And every interior piece he could figure out how to remove from the car got painted a tacky blue (The car's white with blue and gray interior), except the guage cluster bezel, that's white, yay!
Yeah, it's an embarresment to be seen in right now, it needs love. It has no radio and the factory harness is MIA, it's all hacked up in there! And there are wires running all over the place from former equipment: fog lights, an alarm and/or remote start and a stereo system w/amps. But I used to do all that stuff for a living so i have the know-how to bring my baby back to respectability and clean it up real nice. Just wanted to share my happiness and I'm happy to be a fellow Civic owner. This will be my main source of info. for my ride and I'm sure you guys will be a great resource! Later...

My first question is this: The cars an automatic, and when it shifts its very pronounced. The car actually bucks a little bit. I asked the salesman about this and he said that all auto transmissions do that until they warm up. So me, not knowing any better, accepted that as a legit reason. But I've now driven it with everything fully warmed up, and it still does it. It doesn't change from cold to warm, its the same abrupt shifts from cold to warm. Is this normal? The car has 155k on it.

no its not normal. my girlfriends 93 coupe' does the same thing; however, my 98 hatchback does not. Both of these cars are auto's. i'm not exactly sure what it is, but from hearsay i heard it was some sensor.. probably not, but im sure someone will know this one.

It is either a sensor in your tranny, or your tranny is going to go out. My accord was doing that then it got worst and then went out, so had to replace it. Make sure there is all the fluids in it. Congrads on the buy. Good Luck.
