Prelude 97-01 stock rim specs? Tire upgrade information?
Does anyone have specs on stock Prelude 97-01 rims? All I have been able to find is that they weigh 19lbs without tire, and they're 16's.
Specifically, I am trying to find the rim width because I want to upgrade tires. I currently have stock Bridgestone Potenza RE92's 205/50R16, and I want to slap on a set of Falken Azenis 215/45ZR16.
I have been told by several people that they should fit fine, but the Falken website says that the approved rim width for this tire is 7.0-8.0 inches, and I am not sure if my stock rims are that wide.
Any and all information would be appreciated. Thanks

We'll i think 215s would be too wide for stock rims, you should just go for the 205/45/16s. Azenis tend to be wider then they advertise.

The stock rim IS 6.5" wide. 215 Azines will fit fine. If you got were able to convince your tire mounter you might be able to a 225 on the stockers. i will be ordering a set of the 215 for Auto-x season.
Now the Azines Rt 215's wear out REALLY fast. If you drive them everyday you will need a new set... 6-10 months. But the grip is un touchable for anyother street tire.

I ran 215/40/18x7.5 on my 00 SH.
Rims were Volk LE37T w/ 48+ offset.
It all depends on the wheel offset and your drop. There are people running 7.5 to 8.0 in wheel width.
I had no rubbing issues with mines with turning, only when I hit dips/potholes on the highway, the inner top wheel rubs with the top of the tire.
Remember, the wider the better. 7.5/8 + 225 will be great for handling.
