i was running 27 psi on azenis with gsr swirlie/blade. my car is a 95 del sol VTEC. full interior, no spare tire, ground control coilover , kyb agx, oil level is half a quart overfilled, and 1/4 tank of gas. i was nervous and very tired (since i was studying for a exam the whole night before). i think my car is a VERY slow since d series hatch are faster than my b16 del sol. what do you guys think? is there anything wrong with my tranny cause it was hard to get into 3rd gear on all the runs, my tranny has no grind. i couldnt get into 3rd on my 1st and 4th run so i just went to 4th. and is too much engine oil bad?

yeah those times are really slow for even a del sol VTEC. those 60 foot times are killing you. bring em down.

2.3 is not horrible.

I think that 16.0 is about average for a Del Sol VTEC.

I think you just need to practice launching and drag racing.

My SOHC coupe runs faster than that.

Practice makes perfect

A coupe isn't a Del Sol though...

Too much oil is not great. Can cause foaming of the oil, also excess oil can blow out engine seals. I think?

Not too shabby. What elevation are you running at?
</TD></TR></TABLE>i dont know the exact elevation, but alot of people say the elevation at Infineon raceway is fck up because at the end of it, there is mild uphill.

when i should shift? before redline or 100 or 200 rpm over the redline?

Damn dude. Those are pretty shitty times for a del Sol VTEC. Are you sure the valve cover just doesnt say VTEC and its a D16Z6 or D16Y8? Dont blame the car by calling it a del SLOW. A person does have to drive the car for times... My del Sol S ran a 15.9 with just intake, and skunk2 catback. So something is definitley wrong with your car or you. Not trying to dog you or nothing.

Good luck with the problem.

you just need practice, overfilling the oil is not great but a half quart wont damage anything.

i'm pretty sure it is a b16, since it does say b16a3 on the block and i do rev my car to 8000 everyday. i also saw another del sol vtec hit 16.1 and a 99 coupe si hit 16 something, 99 prelude sh hit 15.7, my friend's 94 integra gsr hit a 15.4 with just intake. i'm kinda disappointed with my times. i think it is my driving since i was really tired and nervous, but somehow not since other b16 cars were in the 16's too. so i am going to again in about a month with i/h/e and change my tranny fluid with gm syncromesh fm, and hx wheels.

you should be able to pull 2.2 60's easily on those tires. i pull 2.1's and have even hit 2.0's on azenis's with open diff. that will get you into the 15s most likely

i just saw you trapped 95! is that right? thats good for mid-low 14's!

15.2-15.5 is avarage for a good driver in a del sol Vtec.

I ran a 16.001 at lebenon valley in a stock 93 si model. and lebenon its a known slow track.

The del sol vtec is rated @ 15.7 from the factory. A few basic bolt-ons and a good driver should be able to net 15.2-15.5. From my experience with my car, a good lunch is extremely key for the del sol to get it going and get a good time.

I ran a 16.6 in my basicly stock sol when i had my d16z6. For mods, all i had was TEIN HA's, 15inch rota's with pontenza so3's, Intake, and 2.25inch exhaust, and I am a pretty bad drag racer (I like autox much more). I thought that was pretty slow.

I would change the fluid in your tranny if you can't put your car in gear.
